Steep on PS4

Being an angry gamer can be costly. Controllers aren’t cheap and normally go for $80 depending on the console. I don’t even want to think about all the extra costs I’ve made buying new controllers when I was younger. Luckily, I haven’t gotten any of those angry moments for a long time… Until I started playing Steep for the PS4.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End on PS4

When I was 12 years old I was the only person in my class with a Playstation 1. Everyone else owned a Nintendo 64.  It’s something that is even more clear in the ” 90s nostalgia” world we live in today. How often do you see a post/meme on social media or reddit talking about Goldeneye, Zelda, Mario Kart or Smash Brothers in comparison to any PS1 game?

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PS4

I’ve always understood the appeal of an open-world game but never enjoyed it as much as the rest of my friends. Especially when it comes down to Grand Theft Auto, Saints Row or Watch Dogs. So when I started to play Skyrim a couple of years ago I wasn’t expecting much..

Pro Evolution Soccer 2017 on PS4

I’ve got no idea how Pro Evolution Soccer 2017 is getting such high reviews. The current score on Metacritic is around the 90% and I can’t find any reason what so ever why that is the case.

The last time I’ve played a Pro Evolution Soccer game has to be in 2014 when I bought the game on the PC. It was decent, not the best football game ever but with the Master League and the Be A Legend mode it kept me busy for half a year. I did try FIFA but wasn’t the biggest fan.

In 2015 I made the switch, found Pro Evolution Soccer quite lacking and FIFA 15 and 16 are both great football games. Very frustrating but also very good. This years Pro Evolution Soccer is only frustrating and not that good at all.

FIFA 2015 on PS4

Every year, since 1998, I’ve bought one game religiously. It’s not FIFA, it’s been Pro Evolution Soccer. Why? Because it used to be the best football (soccer, whatever) simulator game on every console. Starting out on the PSX, moving through the PS2 and later on the PC (I’ve skipped most of the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions), it’s the game of choice. A game I play every year from October till October.

But since 2010 I’ve been trying FIFA again, FIFA was pretty damn bad in the mid 2000s but after 2009 and 2010 the game picked up pace and started to be good again after a 8 year lay-off. FIFA 15 is good but not great, my biggest issue I’ve got with FIFA – and this has been for quite some time – is that is treated like a American sport. The emphasis is on the half time replays, the pre-match spectacle but not on the time in between. Luckily this year, the gameplay is solid.
